Chap. 300.—An ACT to provide that no person shall be disqualified from holding
any State, county or municipal office or position by reason of certain federal
service. [H B 380]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
Section 1. No State, county or municipal officer or employee shall
forfeit or vacate, or be held to have forfeited or vacated, his office or posi-
tion, by reason of having served as an officer, member, agent or employee
in the Selective Service System of the United States, or in any other posi-
tion or capacity under the provisions of an Act of Congress of the United
States known as the “Selective Training and Service Act of 1940”, and
any amendments thereto; or by reason of having served as an officer, mem-
ber or agent of any tire rationing board, established under the authority
or control of the United States.
Section 2. No person shall be ineligible to hold any State, county
or municipal office or position by reason of being engaged in any such
federal service referred to in the first section of this act.
2. An emergency exists and this Act is in force from its passage.
