Chap. 241.—An ACT to provide that in every county of the Commonwealth in
which one-fourth of its area has since January 1, 1941, been acquired for a mili-
tary reservation, the sheriff shall maintain an office in charge of a clerk, and to
prescribe how such clerk shall be compensated. [H B 185]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That in
every county of the Commonwealth in which one-fourth of its area has,
since January first, nineteen hundred and forty-one, been acquired by
the Federal Government for a military reservation, the sheriff shall
maintain an office in charge of a clerk, which clerk shall be paid out of
county funds a salary of not less than fifty dollars nor more than one
hundred dollars per month, as determined by the board of supervisors
within such limits.
