Chap. 166.—An ACT to validate sales of real estate in chancery suits brought under
Section 2503 of the Code of Virginia, or Section 403 of the Tax Code of Vir-
ginia, and deeds made to the purchasers thereof, where the bill failed to show
that such suit was brought upon authority of the governing body of the county,
city or town for whose benefit the suit was brought. [H B 285]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That all
sales of real estate heretofore made in chancery suits brought and con-
ducted under the provisions of section twenty-five hundred and three of
the Code of Virginia, or section four hundred and three of the Tax Code
of Virginia, where the bill failed to show that the suit was instituted upon
authority of the board of supervisors or other governing body of the
county, or the council or other governing body of the city or town for
whose benefit the suit was brought, and the deeds made to the purchasers

of said real estate by a commissioner appointed by the court for such
purpose, are hereby declared to be valid and of the same force and effect
as if such omission from the bill had not occurred, provided all the pro-
ceedings in the suit were regularly conducted in accordance with the
provisions of the Code section or Tax Code section under which the
same was brought and all necessary persons made parties thereto.
