Chap. 76.—An ACT for the Relief of the Sureties of Benjamin Robinson,
late Sheriff of Greene County.
Approved February 8, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That authority be
given to the auditor of public accounts to suspend the collec-
tion of a judgment in the name of the commonwealth against
Benjamin Robinson, late sheriff of Greene county, and his
sureties, for the period of twelve months, provided he shall
be satisfied that the same is sufficiently secured by the judg-
ment lien; but nothing herein contained shall be construed to
prohibit the auditor from collecting the debt whenever he may
think proper to do so.
2. The auditor of public accounts is authorized and hereby
required, upon a settlement of the aforesaid judgment, to re-
ceive from said sureties in discharge of said judgment the
payment of the principal, legal interest and costs of collection,
abating therefrom the damages and excess of interest which
have been awarded for said default: provided, that nothing
herein contained shall be construed as relieving said Benjamin
Robinson from the payment of any portion of said judgment
and damages.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
