Chap. 42.—An ACT to Extend the Time within which William W. Sage,
late Sheriff of Lee County, may Collect the Taxes for the years 18!)
and 1870, and for other purposes.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
William W. Sage, late sheriff of Lee county, be and he is
hereby allowed a further time, till the first day of August
eighteen hundred and seventy-two, to collect any unpaid taxes
in his hands for collection for the years eighteen hundred anc
sixty-nine and eighteen hundred and seventy, and to enable
him to do so, he shall have the same power of distress as was
in force in the said years eighteen hundred and sixty-nine anc
eighteen hundred and seventy, and applicable to the collectioz
of taxes by sheriffs.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
