Chap. 39.—An ACT Authorizing a Sale of the Front Royal Turnpike.
In force January 24, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the board of
directors of the Front Royal Turnpike Company, incorporated
by an act entitled an “act to incorporate the Front Royal
Turnpike Company,” passed March 27, 1849, be and are hereby
authorized and empowered to sell at public auction, for such
price and on such terms as the said board of directors may
deem judicious, all the right, title, interest and franchise, in-
cluding the state's interest therein, and to convey the same to
the purchaser or purchasers, and to apply the proceeds of the
sale of said turnpike road to the payment of the debts of the
said company: provided, however, that the said purchaser or
purchasers of said turnpike road shall be allowed only to col-
lect tolls on such section or sections of said road as shall be
kept in good condition.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
