Chap. 382.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section 2 of an Act Enti-
tiled an Act to Incorporate the Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank of
Alexandria, approved June 27th, 1870.
Approved March 26, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section two of the act approved June twenty-seventh, eighteen
hundred and seventy, entitled an act to incorporate the ‘Farm-
ers and Mechanics Savings Bank of Alexandria, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. The capital stock of said bank shall be divided in shares
of ten dollars es ‘th, and subseriptions shall be made and re
ceived at such time or times, in such manner and to such
amount, and be payable in such manner as shall be prescribed
by the persons numed in the first section of this act or by the
board of directors. The said bauk may receive deposits from
any minor; and whenever any such deposits shall have been
made, the said bank may, inits discretion, pay to such depositor
such sum as may be due to hima, although no guardian shall
have been appointed for such minor, or ‘the guardian of such
minor shall not have authorized the drawing of the same; and
the check, receipt, or acquittance of such minor shall be as
valid as if the same were execnted by a guardian of such minor,
or the minor were of full age, if such deposit was made per-
sonally by such minor. Deposits may also be reccived from
marricd women and the same be repaid to them upon their
own receipts; and any and all lawful by-laws, rules and regula-
tions made by said bank, shall be held to extend to and to em-
brace such minors and married women as well as persons sui
juris.
2. This act shall bein force from its passage.
