tain Officers of the Government, and the Time within which they may
Qualify.

Approved January 23, 1872.

Whereas, doubts have arisen as to the proper period for th
commencement of the terms of certain officers of the govern
ment, to wit, the secretary of the commonwealth, the audito:
of public accounts, the second auditor, the treasurer, the regis
ter of the land office, the superintendent of the penitentiary
the general agent and storekeeper of the penitentiary, and the
superintendent, of public printing: therefore, to remove al.
doubt in the premises,

1. Resolved by the general assembly, That the official terms
of each of the aforesaid officers shall be construed to com.
mence on the second day of January, 1872.

2. Resolved, That each of the aforesaid officers be allowed
thirty days from the day of his election within which to qualify
and execute his official bond.
