or of the county board, as the case may be, in counties whic): adopt certain op-

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That if
and when any county having an area of more than forty and less than
sixty square miles of highland above the low water mark, adopts one
of the forms of county organization and government provided for in
sections twenty-seven hundred and seventy-three-a :o twenty-seven
hundred and seventy-three-n, both inclusive, of the Code of Virginia,
the salary of each member of the board of commissioners, or of the
county board, as the case may be, shall be not more than six hundred
dollars per annum.
