Chap. 245.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 58-a of Chapter 94 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1934, approved March 7, 1934, and known, designated
and cited as the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, said section relating to alco-
holic beverages under United States customs bonds, so as to provide to what
ships the same may be released. [H B 433]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That
section fifty-eight-a of chapter ninety-four of the Acts of the General
Assembly of nineteen hundred and thirty-four, approved March
seventh, nineteen hundred and thirty-four, and known, designated
and cited as the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 58-a. Importation of alcoholic beverages into United
States customs bonded warehouses in Virginia; release of such alco-
holic beverages in Virginia for delivery in Virginia or shipment outside
of Virginia; regulations of board regarding same.—(a) Alcoholic
beverages may be imported into Virginia under United States cus-
toms bonds, and be held in Virginia in United States customs bonded
warehouses; and alcoholic beverages may be removed from any
United States customs bonded warehouse, wherever situated, to a
United States customs bonded warehouse located in Virginia, and be
held in Virginia.
(b) Such alcoholic beverages so imported or removed to United
States customs bonded warehouses in Virginia, shall be released
from customs bond in Virginia only on permits issued by the board
for delivery to the board, or to other persons entitled to receive the
same in Virginia, or to ships actually engaged in foreign trade or
trade between the Atlantic and Pacific ports of the United States, or
between the United States and any of its possessions outside of the
several States and the District of Columbia, or for shipment outside
of the State of Virginia.
(c) The board shall have the power to make such regulations as
it deems expedient or necessary for the purpose of carrying out the
provisions of this section, and to insure that such alcoholic beverages
shall be handled only in a manner provided by law.
