Chap. 140.—-An ACT to fix the boundaries of ‘‘Bellmeade Sanitary District Number
One of Chesterfield County, Virginia.” [S B 226]

1. Whereas, pursuant to authority of Chapter one hundred and
sixty-one of the Acts of the Virginia Assembly of nineteen hundred
and twenty-six, as amended, the judge of the Circuit Court of Chester-
field County, Virginia, entered an order in the Circuit Court of said
county on the second day of March, nineteen hundred and twenty-
nine, creating a sanitary district in said county designating the same
as ‘‘Bellmeade Sanitary District Number One of Chesterfield County,
Virginia’, and;
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors acting under authority vested
in it by said Chapter one hundred and sixty-one, has exercised the
authority vested in said board by said Chapter one hundred and
sixty-one of the Acts of the Virginia Assembly of nineteen hundred
and twenty-six and;
Whereas, it appears that it is necessary and proper at this time
to enlarge the area of said ‘‘Bellmeade Sanitary District Number One
of Chesterfield County, Virginia” to include certain areas adjoining
said sanitary district so that the said certain areas might be provided
with public utilities now afforded said ‘‘Bellmeade Sanitary District
Number One of Chesterfield County, Virginia.”’
Now therefore, be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia
as follows:
Section 1. That the area of ‘‘Bellmeade Sanitary District Num-
ber One, Chesterfield County, Virginia’? be and the same is hereby
fixed within the following boundaries, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the western line of the Richmond
and Petersburg turnpike with the corporate line of the City of Rich-
mond, Virginia, thence running in a north-easterly direction along
the said corporate line to a point on said corporation line one hundred
(100) feet east of the easterly line of Eighteenth street, thence south-
wardly and parallel with said Eighteenth street to the center line of
Bruce Avenue, thence westerly along said center line of Bruce Avenue
to the intersection of the center lines of Monroe Street and Bruce
Avenue, thence southwardly along the center line of Monroe Street
to the intersection of the center lines of Monroe Street and Harwood
Street, thence easterly along the center line of Harwood Street to
the intersection of the center lines of Harwood Street and Drewry
Street, thence southwardly along the center line of Drewry Street to
the intersection of the center lines of Drewry Street and an alley
approximately one hundred and eighty-eight (188) feet southwardly
from the center line of Harwood Street, thence westerly along the
center line of said alley to the intersection of the center line of said
alley and the center line of Norwood Street, thence northwardly along
said center line of Norwood Street to the intersection of the center
line of said Norwood Street and an alley a distance of approximately
one hundred and twenty-eight (128) feet, thence westwardly along
the center line of last said alley to the intersection of said center line
of said alley and the center line of another alley one hundred and
fifty-eight (158) feet westwardly from the center line of Willis Street,
thence southwardly along the center line of said last alley to the south-
ern line of the property of Center Hill Subdivision as recorded in Plat
Book Number seven, page eighty-eight of the clerk’s office of Chester-
field County, thence easterly along said southern line of said Center
Hill Subdivision one hundred and forty-seven (147) feet to the eastern
property line of Lot Number twenty-one in the Subdivision known
as Bellmeade Addition as recorded in Plat Book Number three, page
seventy-two, in the clerk’s office of Chesterfield County, thence run-
ning southwardly along the said eastern property line of Bellmeade
Addition and continuing southwardly to the northern property line
of Block Number sixteen in the plan of Melrose as recorded in Plat
Book Number one, page three hundred and twenty-two of said
clerk’s office, thence running along said northern property line of said

said plan of Melrose, thence southwardly along the center line of

ith of the southern line of Warwick Avenue, thence westwardly

Section 2. The Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County, is
eby empowered to exercise all of the authority and powers in said
arged sanitary district vested in it by Chapter one hundred and

l twenty-six as heretofore amended and that which might hereafter
vested in it by any future amendment thereof.
Section 3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
passage.
