Chap. 3.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to authorize
the councils of the cities to provide for the cutting of weeds and other
foreign growth on vacant property, approved March 23, 1928, as heretofore
amended, so as to confer like powers upon boards of supervisors of certain
counties and councils of towns. | [H B 70]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to authorize the councils of the cities to provide for the
cutting of weeds and other foreign growth on vacant property, ap-
proved March twenty-third, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight, as
heretofore amended, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as fol-
lows:
Section 1. The councils of the cities and towns and boards of super-
visors in counties having a density of population greater than four hun-
dred and seventy-five inhabitants per square mile in this State are hereby
authorized and empowered to provide, in their discretion for cutting
weeds and other foreign growth on all vacant property in their respec-
tive cities, towns and counties at such time or times in each year as
may be deemed expedient by the councils or boards of supervisors.
All expenses incurred in the cutting of such weeds and other growth
shall be chargeable to and paid by the owner of the property and
shall be collected by the city, town or county as other taxes and levies
are collected.
