Chap. 264.——An ACT to amend Chapter 94 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1934, approved March 7, 1934, and known, designated and cited as the
Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, by adding thereto a new section numbered
Section 49-b, prohibiting the transportation of alcoholic beverages other
than alcoholic beverages carried in the possession of a passenger who is
being transported for compensation, in motor vehicles transporting, or licensed
for the transportation of, passengers for hire. [H B 466]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That chap-
ter ninety-four of the acts of the General Assembly of nineteen hun-
dred and thirty-four, approved March seventh, nineteen hundred and
thirty-four, and known, designated and cited as the Alcoholic Beverage
Control Act, be amended by adding thereto a new section numbered
section forty-nine-b, which new section shall read as follows:
Section 49-b. The transportation of alcoholic beverages, other than
alcoholic beverages carried in the possession of a passenger who is
being transported for compensation at the regular rate and fare charged
other passengers, in any motor vehicle which is being used, or 1s
licensed, for the transportation of passengers for hire, is prohibited.
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished
accordingly.
