Chap. 19.—An ACT to authorize the clerk of the circuit court of Norfolk
county, Virginia, to transcribe and consolidate the general indices to judg-
ments in his office from 1843 to January 1, 1938, and to make said consolidated
transcript a legal record of judgments docketed in his office. [H B 160]

Whereas, on account of the mutilated and dilapidated condition of
general indices to judgments, number one, two, three and four, in
the office of the clerk of the circuit court of Norfolk county, it be-
came necessary to transcribe said general index ; and
Whereas, the clerk of the said court has consolidated said general
indices to judgments number one, two, three and four, which books
contained reference to all judgments docketed in his office from
eighteen hundred and forty-three to January first, nineteen hundred
and thirty-eight, into one book, known as “general index judgment
lien dockets”, number one (1); now, therefore
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That said
“general index judgment lien dockets”, number one (1), in the office
of the clerk of the circuit court of Norfolk county, Virginia, is hereby
validated and shall be, a legal record of judgments docketed as pro-
vided by law, in the office of the clerk of the circuit court for the
county of Norfolk, Virginia, from eighteen hundred and forty-three,
to January first, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
