Chap. 152.-An ACT to abolish the office of overseer of the poor, and to terminate
the terms of office of overseers of the poor. [H B 331]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
office of overseer of the poor in the several counties of this State be,
and the same is hereby abolished. The term of office of each over-
seer of the poor in office on the day immediately preceding the effec-
tive date of this act shall expire on the effective date of this act.
