Chap. 185.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section 17, Chapter 157, of
the Code of 1860, in Reference to Jurisdiction of County Courts.
Approved March 14, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seventeen, chapter one hundred and fifty-seven, of the
Code of eightcen hundred and sixty, as amended and re-enacted
by an act approved February third, cighteen hundred and
seventy-two, be amended and re-cnacted so as to read as
follows:
“< 17. In a county court, cases of caveat, such motions as
are provided for by the sixth section of chapter one hundred
and sixty-seven, and actions at law, shall be cognizable only at
the terms designated for the trial of civil cases, in which juries
are required. All other matters or things authorized by law
to be done by or in such court, may be done at any term
thereof.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
