Chap. 153.—An ACT to Amend Section 33 of an Act cutitled “An Act
to Provide a New Charter for the Town of Charlottesville,” approved
March 2eth, 1871.
Approved March 11, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty-three of an act entitled “an act to provide a new
charter for the town of Charlottesville,” approved March
twenty-cighth, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
«2 33. The said town, and the taxable persons and property
therein, shall be exempt and free from the payment of any poor
rates or road tax for any year in which it shall appear that said
town shall at its own expense provide for its own poor and keep
its streets in order; but it shall contribute to other county ex-
penses, and pay pro ruta for money expended in building
bridves that were destroyed by the fresh in the year eighteen
hundred and seventy.”
2. Tius act shall be in force from its passage.
