Chap. 78.—An ACT to assent to and to accept certain grants of money provided
for by an act of the Congress of the United States entitled, “An act to pro-
vide for research into basic laws and principles relating to agriculture and
to provide for the further development of cooperative agricultural extension
work and the more complete endowment and support of landgrant colleges,”
approved June 29, 1935, and to appropriate funds received pursuant to the said
act of the Congress of ‘the United States. [S B 122]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State of Virginia does hereby assent to the purposes of the grants and
appropriations provided for by an act of the Congress of the United
States entitled, “an act to provide for research into basic laws and
principles relating to agriculture and to provide for the further devel-
opment of cooperative agricultural extension work and the more com-
plete endowment and support of land-grant colleges,’ approved June
twenty-ninth, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, and does hereby author-
ize and empower the Treasurer of Virginia to receive the said grants
and appropriations for the benefit of the Virginia Agricultural and
Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute, and the Virginia Agri-
cultural Experiment Station and the Agricultural Extension Division
which are included as parts of the said institution, and the Virginia
State College for Negroes, to be used in accordance with the terms and
conditions expressed in the act of Congress aforesaid, for which pur-
pose the said moneys are hereby appropriated.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
