1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to sell, distribute, vend or otherwise dis-
pose of any drug, medicine, or pharmaceutical or medicinal preparation
by means of any public exhibition, entertainment, performance, or car-
nival, commonly known as “medicine shows” and “patent medicine
shows.” .
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not ex-
ceeding one hundred dollars for each offense, or confined in jail not
exceeding one year, or both.
