Chap. 5.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section numbered 2806-a providing for the pay and allowances to overseers
of the poor, and to repeal section 2806 of the Code of Virginia relating to
the same matters. [H B 6]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new section num-
bered section twenty-eight hundred and six-a, which new section shall
read as follows:
Section 2806-a. Pay of overseers.—The pay and allowances to
overseers shall be two dollars per day while actually engaged and not
to exceed seventy-five dollars in any county having a population of
more than ten thousand and less than twenty thousand inhabitants
which adjoins a county within the geographical boundaries of which
is located a city having a population of not less than sixty thousand
nor more than one hundred thousand inhabitants for each overseer for
one year, and elsewhere not to exceed forty dollars for each overseer
for one year, to be paid out of the county levy.
2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia that
section twenty-eight hundred and six of the Code of Virginia be, and it
is hereby, repealed.
