Chap. 42.—An ACT to repeal section 17 of an act entitled “an act to encourage thrift
and savings amongst industrial classes similar to the encouragement afforded by
building and loan associations and to authorize the incorporation of industrial
loan associations for the purpose of making small loans to industrial classes on
security and at a low rate of interest,” approved February 21, 1920, which said
section was added to said act by chapter 46 of the Acts of Assembly of 1934,
which is an act approved February 23, 1934; and to provide that such repeal
shall not affect any corporation heretofore chartered and now doing business
under and by virtue of the authority conferred by the provisions of said section.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
seventeen of an act entitled an act to encourage thrift and savings
amongst industrial classes similar to the encouragement afforded by
building and loan associations and to authorize the incorporation of
industrial loan associations for the purpose of making small loans to
industrial classes on security and at a low rate of interest, approved
February twenty-first, nineteen hundred and twenty, which said section
was added to said act by chapter forty-six of the Acts of Assembly of
nineteen hundred and thirty-four, which is an act approved February
twenty-third, nineteen hundred and thirty-four, be, and the same is
hereby, repealed.
2. This repeal shall not affect in any way any corporation which
has amended its charter and is now doing business under and by virtue
of the authority conferred by the provisions of the section hereby
repealed.
