Chap. 332.—An ACT to authorize and empower the State Board of Education to
sell, transfer and convey certain real estate, together with buildings thereon,
situated in the city of Petersburg, and to provide for the disposition of pro-
ceeds derived from the sale of such property. [S B 338]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State Board of Education be, and it is hereby, authorized and em-
powered to sell, transfer and convey, with the approval of the Gov-
ernor, by proper deed or deeds signed and executed by such person
or persons as shall be authorized by the said board, that certain piece
or parcel of land, together with the buildings thereon, situated in the
city of Petersburg, the said property containing thereon the building
or buildings known as Trinity Methodist Church, South, and a
parsonage, the same being on Sycamore Street in the said city, the
property referred to being that recently acquired by the State Board
of Education to protect a loan secured by the said property. Any
proceeds derived from the sale of the said property shall be paid
into the State treasury and after deducting therefrom such sums as
may have been or may hereafter be expended by the State Board of
Education in acquiring such property and in selling, transferring
and conveying such property, shall be held for and as a part of the
endowment fund of the Virginia State College for Negroes, upon the
same terms and conditions and subject to the same management and
control as other endowment funds of the said Virginia State College
for Negroes.
