Chap. 320.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Fairfax county to
levy a special tax to provide fire protection for said county, and to pay certain
existing indebtedness of, and to purchase fire fighting equipment for, duly
organized fire fighting companies in said county, [S B 306]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Fairfax is hereby authorized
and empowered to lay a special levy each year, in addition to any levy
now authorized or required by law at the time the other county and
district levies are laid, which levy shall be included in the county
budget for such year, on all property subject to taxation by the county,
for the purpose of fire protection in the said county, which said fund so
raised by said special levy shall be used, in the discretion of the said
board of supervisors, for the payment of any indebtedness heretofore
or hereafter incurred by any duly organized volunteer fire fighting
company in said county in the purchase of necessary fire fighting
equipment, and for the purchase, by the board of supervisors, of any
necessary fire fighting equipment which, in the discretion of said board,
may be needed by the duly organized fire fighting companies in said
county.
2. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
