Chap. 278.—An ACT to authorize the Armory Commission to acquire lands in
the vicinity of the State Military Reservation near Virginia Beach, Princess
Anne county, Virginia, suitable for drill, instruction and administration pur-
poses; and to appropriate funds for such purpose. [H B 519]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Virginia Armory Commission of Virginia be, and it is hereby,
authorized and empowered to acquire by purchase, gift, lease, con-
demnation or otherwise, such lands adjacent to or in the vicinity of
the State Military Reservation near Virginia Beach, Princess Anne
county, Virginia, as may, in the opinion of the Commission, be suit-
able grounds for the purposes of drill, instruction and administration.
For the purpose of providing the funds to enable the Commission
to exercise the authority herein conferred, there is hereby appro-
priated to the Armory Commission of Virginia, out of any moneys
in the State treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of five
thousand ($5,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary
for said purpose. All payments out of this appropriation shall be
made by the Treasurer upon warrants of the Comptroller issued upon
vouchers signed by the Adjutant General.
