Chap. 207.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section numbered 4981l-a, requiring the docketing of judgments obtained by
the Commonwealth in courts of record on forfeited recognizances and bonds,
and providing for the payment of the fees for such recordation. [S B 98]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new section, num-
bered forty-nine hundred and eighty-one-a, which new section shall
read as follows:
Section 4981l-a. Whenever a judgment is entered in any court of
record in favor of the Commonwealth of Virginia upon a forfeited
recognizance or bond, it shall be the duty of the clerk of the court in
which said judgment is rendered to certify an abstract of the same to
the clerk of the court wherein deeds are recorded in the county or
city wherein the judgment debtor resides or in any city or county in
which he may own real property, who shall thereupon enter the said
abstract of judgment upon his judgment docket, for which service he
shall be allowed the sum of fifty cents, payable out of the treasury
of the Commonwealth.
