Chap. 177.—An ACT to provide for a determination and survey of the natural
rocks, beds and shoals in the waters of Princess Anne county. [H B 139]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
judge of the circuit court of Princess Anne county, in term time or vaca-
tion, as soon as possible after the passage of this act, shall appoint
three commissioners who shall act with the engineer of the Com-
mission of Fisheries in making a survey of all the natural rocks, beds
or shoals in the waters of Princess Anne county.
2. The three commissioners alone shall determine the question of
what bottoms are natural rocks, beds or shoals and the areas defining
the same shall be surveyed by the engineer of the Commission of
Fisheries.
3. All survey stations established during this survey shall be con-
nected with the triangulation system of the Coast and Geodetic Sur-
vey and properly marked.
4. The engineer of the Commission of Fisheries shall after com-
pletion of the field work, plat the areas defined by the three com-
missioners as natural rock, beds or shoals on a map at a scale of no
less than one to ten thousand.
5. Copies of the map of this survey and copies of all notes defin-
ing the boundary lines of the natural beds, rocks and shoals shall be
filed at the office of the Commission of Fisheries and at the clerk’s
office of Princess Anne county and such survey and maps shall be
construed to be in all courts of the Commonwealth as evidence of
all the natural rocks, beds and shoals in the county of Princess Anne.
6. Thereafter all surveys of oyster planting grounds in the waters
of Princess Anne county shall be made from or properly referred to
the survey stations shown on these maps and shall be platted on the
maps referred to as being on file at the clerk’s office of Princess Anne
county by the surveyor making the survey and by the Engineer of
the Commission of Fisheries on the map filed at the office of the Com-
mission of Fisheries.
7. All cost of the survey of the natural rocks, beds or shoals in
Princess Anne county shall be borne by the Commission of Fisheries,
including a per diem of five ($5.00) dollars for each one of the three
commissioners while actually cngawed in their work of locating and
defining the natural rock, beds ‘and shoals.
