ginia, relating to offenses committed on or near county boundary lines, so as
to confer certain powers upon sheriffs, deputy sheriffs and police officers.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
forty-seven hundred and seventy-one of the Code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 4771. Offenses Committed on Boundary of Two Coun-
ties, or, Et Cetera, Where Prosecuted.—An offense committed on the
boundary of two counties, or within three hundred yards thereof, may
be alleged to have been committed, and may be prosecuted and pun-
ished, in either county, and any sheriff, deputy sheriff, or other police
officer shall have jurisdiction to make arrests and preserve the peace
for a like distance on either side of said boundary line between said
counties.
