1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to authorize any judge or judges of a court or courts of
record of the city of Norfolk to act as judge or court in any other court
of record of said city, at the request of the judge of any one of said
courts, approved February twenty-first, nineteen hundred and thirty, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
At the request of the judge of any court of record of the city of
Norfolk, entered of record, any other judge of a court of record of
said city may act in term time or in vacation, either as court or judge,
for the judge making said request, with the same jurisdiction and au-
thority in all respects as the judge making such request would have, and
this notwithstanding the latter may at the same time be engaged in the
performance of his official duties in court or as judge of said court.
The entry of record may be made, in such case, either by the judge
making such request or by the judge of whom such request is made,
and the judge so acting may use either the jury which has been duly
summoned for the trial of cases in the court of the judge so acting or
the jury which has been duly summoned for the trial of cases in the
court of the judge for whom he is acting. No judge shall receive any
extra compensation for his services in acting for another as herein
provided.
