Chap. 41.—An ACT to provide for the dismissal of suits and actions which have
been at rules for more than three years, and for noting such dismissal on the
margin of the page of the deed book where any lis pendens filed in such suit
or action has been recorded. [S B 46]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That when
any action at law or suit in equity has been at rules in the clerk’s office
of any court for more than three years and not matured for hearing,
the clerk shall enter an order in the appropriate rule docket, dismissing
the said action or suit, and shall also note such dismissal on the margin
of the page of the deed book where any lis pendens filed in such action
or suit has been recorded ; and thereafter, the status of the entire matter
shall be the same as if such action on suit had not been instituted.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force on and after
thirty days from its passage.
