Chap. 316.—An ACT to provide additional funds for the operation of the bank-
ing division of the State Corporation Commission by authorizing and giving
the State Corporation Commission power to increase the fees and assess-
ments for examination, supervision, registration and licensing of State banks
and trust companies, national banks, building and loan associations, industrial
loan associations, credit unions and small loan companies, to expend the
same and for other purposes. [fH B 174]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
1. In order to provide additional funds for the operation of the
banking division of the State Corporation Commission, the said State
Corporation Commission is hereby authorized and given power to in-
crease the fees and assessments for examination, supervision, registra-
tion and licensing of State banks and trust companies, building and loan
associations, industrial loan associations, credit unions and small loan
companies for each year of the biennium ending June thirtieth, nine-
teen hundred and thirty-six, by thirty-one thousand eight hundred and
twenty ($31,820) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary but
not to exceed fifty per centum of the present fees and assessments, and
such amount to be prorated over the present fees and assessments in
proportion to the amount now paid and as in the j udgment of the State
Corporation Commission may be just and expedient and that in the
examination of trust departments of State banks and trust companies
the banking division of the State Corporation Commission shall charge
each bank or trust company at the rate of ten ($10.00) dollars per day
per man and expenses therefor, all of which said fees, assessments, et
cetera, shall be paid in the treasury of Virginia.
2. The State Corporation Commission shall have authority and
power to add additional members to the force of the banking division
of the State Corporation Commission as it may deem expedient, and
to change, decrease or increase, the salary allowances provided in the
appropriation bill provided such change shall not result in an increase
of the total appropriation for the examination of banks and small loan
companies more than ninety-one thousand one hundred and seventy-
five ($91,175.00) dollars.
3. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby amend-
ed, modified or repealed to whatever extent that may be necessary to
give force and effect to the provisions hereof.
