Chap. 227.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Scott county to
levy a district tax of not exceeding fifty cents on the one hundred dollars of
the assessed value of all the property subject to local taxation in Taylor
magisterial district of said county, for the purpose of repaying money bor-
rowed from the literary fund to build certain schools in said district.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Scott county be, and it is hereby, authorized
to levy a district tax of not exceeding fifty cents on the one hundred
dollars of the assessed value of all of the property in Taylor magisterial
district of said county, subject to local taxation, for the purpose of
providing funds with which to repay money borrowed from the literary
fund to build the Manville school and the Rye Cove school in said
district.
All levies heretofore made by said board of supervisors for said
purposes in Taylor magisterial district in excess of twenty-five cents on
the one hundred dollars of the assessed value of the property in said
district are hereby ratified, validated and confirmed, and declared to
be valid and binding levies.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
