Chap. 119.—An ACT to provide for the construction and effect of provisions
requiring notice of sale under deeds of trust to be given for a specified number

Approved March 14, 1934
I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That wher-
ever any deed of trust to secure debts or indemnify sureties contains
a provision requiring the giving of notice of sale thereunder for a
specified number of days by advertisement in one or more news-
papers, and such advertisement be published in a newspaper published
daily or in a newspaper published daily except Sunday, it shall be
deemed a sufficient compliance with such provision if such notice be
published in consecutive issues of such newspaper for the number of
days specified, counting both the day of the first publication and the
day of the last publication and intervening Sundays, whether or not
such newspaper be published on Sunday. The last publication may be
on the day of sale, if the publication be in a newspaper the principal
daily edition of which is delivered or publicly sold before the time
fixed for said sale. Both the first publication and the last publica-
tion may be on Sunday; provided that, where the last publication
be on Sunday, the sale shall be held the following day.
