Chap. 97.—An ACT to Authorize the Orange, Alexandria and Manassas
Railroad Company, or the Virginia and North Carolina Railroad Com-
pany, to Recall all Outstanding Certificates of Capital Stock, and Issue
Other and Uniform Certificates.
Approved March 4, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That authority be
given to the Orange, Alexandria and Manassas railroad com-
pany (or when consolidated with the Lynchburg and Danville
railroad company), the Virginia and North Carolina railroad
company, to recall and cancel, with the consent of the holder,
all outstanding certificates of capital stock issued by the Orange
and Alexandria railroad company, the Orange, Alexandria and
Manassas railroad company (in the event of consolidation as
aforesaid), the Lynchburg and Danville railroad company, and
issue to the holders other and uniform certificates, without re-
gard to the character of the original certificates.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
