Chap. 336.—An ACT for the protection of fish in the James river at Dutch Gap
in Chesterfield county. [H B 401]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person at any time to take fish by means of a
seine, gill net, or set net from the waters of the old James river at
Dutch Gap in the county of Chesterfield.
2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this act shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be
punished by a fine of not less than ten nor more than one hundred dol-
lars or by imprisonment in jail for not more than thirty days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the justice or
jury or of the court trying the case without a jury.
