Chap. 325.—An ACT to give the consent of the State of Virginia for the acquisi-
tion by the State of New Jersey of certain lands in Virginia, subject to certain
limitations and conditions. [S B 315]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
consent of the State of Virginia be, and the same is hereby, given for
the acquisition by the State of New Jersey, by lease, gift, or purchase
of any lands in the State of Virginia upon which any monument or
memorial has been erected to the soldiers of the State of New Jersey ;
provided, that no single piece or parcel of land so acquired shall exceed
two acres in area; and provided, further, that the State of Virginia
expressly retains the same jurisdiction and control over any lands so
acquired by the State of New Jersey, as it retains over land acquired by
individuals.
2. Subject to the reservations as to jurisdiction hereinbefore pre-
scribed, the consent of the State of Virginia is also given for the ac-
quisition by the State of New Jersey of that certain tract or parcel of
land, in Spotsylvania county acquired by the State of New Jersey by
deed from Charles W. Jones and upon a part of which a monument
has been erected to the twenty-third regiment New Jersey volunteers.
