Chap. 252.—An ACT to prescribe the fees to be paid the coroner of the city of
Portsmouth for certain services. [H B 410]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the fee
to be paid the coroner of the city of Portsmouth, for holding an inquest
unless the deceased be a stranger, shall be ten dollars, and where an
inquest is held, there shall be no other or additional fee for any
preliminary view or examination of the dead body. For any other
services required by law of, and performed by, said coroner, his coni-
pensation shall be as prescribed by general law.
