I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
forty-two of the Virginia workmen’s compensation act, which became
a law March twenty-first, nineteen hundred and eighteen, as amended,
be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 42. The total compensation payable under this act shall
in no case exceed fifty-six hundred dollars ($5,600.00).
