Chap. 153.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 349 of the Tax Code of Vir-
ginia, relating to the location of the offices of county treasurers. [H B 165]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
three hundred and forty-nine of the Tax Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 349. The office of the county treasurer shall be maintained
at the county seat or at such other point in the county as the board of
supervisors of the county may deem to be more convenient to a ma-
jority of the citizens of the county and so designate as the point at
which the treasuret’s office shall be maintained. The board of super-
visors shall provide suitable space for such office and such furniture,
fixtures and equipment as shall be necessary to the efficient dispatch of
the duties of the treasurer and the treasurer shall keep therein all his
official accounts and records.
