relating to jurisdiction of justices. [H B 148]

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
six thousand and fifteen of the Code of Virginia, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows: .
Section 6015. Any claim to specific personal property, or to any
debt, fine, or other money, or to damages for breach of any contract,
or for any injury done to property, real and personal, or for any in-
jury to the person, which would be recoverable by action at law or suit
in equity, shall, when the claim is to a fine, if the amount of such claim
does not exceed twenty dollars, and in all other cases, if the claim does
not exceed three hundred dollars (exclusive of interest and costs), be
cognizable by a justice, even though the claim be for or against the
city, town, or county in which such justice resides. Justices shall also
have jurisdiction of actions of unlawful detaiger or entry in cases pro-
vided by sectign fifty-four hundred and forty-five.
