Chap. 112.—An ACT) to authorize the State highway commission to convey to
Landon C. Painter certain real estate heretofore conveyed by him to the Com-
monwealth of Virginia for State highway right of way. [H B 140]

Whereas, by a deed dated October twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred
and twenty-seven, and recorded in the clerk’s office of Fairfax county,
in deed book “F”’ number ten, page four hundred and seventy-nine,
Landon C. Painter and his wife conveyed to the Commonwealth
of Virginia certain land as therein fully described, to be used for
right of way in construction of a part of route thirty-one of the
State highway system, known as project six hundred and forty-nine,
from Snake Hill to five hundred and ninety-six-one thousandths of
a mile south of Gum Springs, in said county; and,
Whereas, a certain portion of said project was subsequently im-
proved on a new location and it is contemplated relocating the re-
maining portion of said project through said property if and when im-
proved, both sections being shown on sheets three, four and five of
plans of said project, and that parts of the land therein conveyed
will no longer be embraced in the State highway system; now, there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
State highway commission be, and is hereby, authorized to convey
to the said Landon C. Painter, by appropriate and proper deed, all
rights, title and interest which was vested in the Commonwealth of
Virginia by the said deed of October the twenty-sixth, nineteen hun-
dred and twenty-seven in such part of the land therein described as
may lie outside of the original thirty-foot right of way of said road,
and not included within forty feet of the centerline of the new loca-
tion on which the project has already been improved and/or which
may hereafter be improved.
