Chap. 300.—An ACT to Provide for the Advance Payment of the Annuity
to the Virginia Military Institute for the year 1871.

Approved March 31, 1871.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That tue auditor
of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized to issue his
warrant or warrants on the treasury in advance, for the annuity
of fifteen thousand dollars, payable to the Virginia military
institute during the fiscal year, beginning the first of October,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, in such sums, and
at such times, as the governor shall certify that the same may
be paid without detriment to the public interests; such pay-
ments to be in discharge pro tanto of said annuity for said

ear.
’ 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
