Whereas, W. L. Davis, and Vera T. Davis, his wife, and Mrs. C. A.
Adams, by their deed, bearing date the twenty-third day of August.
nineteen hundred and twenty-three, did convey to the Commonwealth
of Virginia certain real estate over and upon which it was then intended
to locate a part or portion of State highway route number fourteen.
project number two hundred and eighty-two, between Gretna and
Chatham, in the county of Pittsylvania, the interest of said W. L.
Davis, in said land, being fee simple, subject to a dower interest ot
said Mrs. C. A. Adams, who has, since said conveyance, departed this
life; and,
Whereas, the land so conveyed, was not used by the Commonwealth
of Virginia, for the purpose mentioned in said deed, and it is not con-
templated that it will be used by the Commonwealth of Virginia for
any purpose; and,
Whereas, no money consideration passed for said land;
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
chairman of the State highway commission, be, and he 1s hereby.
authorized, empowered and directed to execute and deliver to said
W. L. Davis a deed conveying to him, the said W. L. Davis, with
covenant of special warranty, the lot, piece or parcel of land, conveved
to the Commonwealth of Virginia by W. L. Davis, Vera T. Davis, and
Mrs. C. A. Adams, of the county of Pittsylvania, in the State of Vir-
ginia, by their deed bearing date August twenty-third, nineteen hundred
and twenty-three, and therein described as follows:
‘Beginning at a point on center line of route fourteen between
Gretna and Chatham, shown on plans as Sta. nineteen hundred and
fifty-one plus sixty, thence a tangent south forty-six degrees and two
minutes west of Sta. nineteen hundred and sixty-seven plus nineteen
and four-tenths a distance of nineteen hundred and fifty-nine and tour-
tenths feet, thence a six degree curve to right of Sta. nineteen hundred
and sixty-nine plus fifty, a distance of two hundred and thirty and six-
tenths feet. The land herein conveyed being a strip or parcel lying
between centerline and a line twenty-five feet north of and a line
twenty-five feet south of and parallel to said center line, containing
two and five one-hundredths acres more or less.”
