_ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion six thousand and sixteen of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 6016. If the warrant be upon an account or contract,
express or implied, for the payment of money, affidavits may be
made and like proceedings had, as is provided by section sixty-one
hundred and thirty-three, in an action of assumpsit. For the pur-
poses of this section, however, the copies of affidavits required to
be served shall be certified by the justice issuing the warrant, but
no fee shall be charged by the justice for this service.
