Chap. 474.——An ACT to authorize the members of the State corporation com-
mission of Virginia to grant certificates of convenience and necessity for
and to regulate the operation of motor vehicles in interstate transportation of
persons or property, or both, for compensation in accordance with the provi-
sions of any statute enacted by the congress of the United States.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
members of the State corporation commission of Virginia are hereby
authorized to grant certificates of convenience and necessity for the
transportation of persons or property, or both, for compensation in
interstate commerce and to regulate said interstate commerce under
the authority of, and in accordance with the provisions of any statute
that has been or hereafter may be enacted by the congress of the
United States vesting in or delegating to the members of the State
corporation commission of Virginia the authority, as an agency of the
United States government, so to grant said certificate and so to regu-
late said commerce.
2. The said members of the State corporation commission of Vir-
ginia are hereby authorized to notify the proper department of the
federal government of their assent to conform to the requirements and
conditions of said statute of the congress in regard to interstate com-
merce by motor vehicle.
3. But nothing herein containe4 shall be construed to prohibit to
the State corporation commission any control that it now has over
motor vehicles employed in interstate conimerce.
