Chap. 250.—An ACT to Authorize the Trustees of Strasburg Academy, in
Shenandoah County, to Sell a Certain Lot of Land.
Approved March 29, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the trustees of the Strasburg academy, in
the county of Shenandoah, to sell all or any part of the lands
devised to them by the last will and testament of Christian
Stover (son of Peter Stover), except two acres, with the build-
ings thereon, upon such terms as they may deem most advan-
tageous, and to invest the proceeds of such part thereof as
they may deem advisable, in the repair or erection of build-
ings on the portion of the land not sold, or in well secured
loans, as they may deem best calculated to carry out the pur-
poses of the devise. Upon the payment of the purchase
money, said trustees are authorized to convey title to said land
to the purchasers, and it shall be their duty to report to the
county court of said county for record, an account of the pur-
chase money received by them, and the manner in which the
Same has been disbursed and invested by them.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
