Chap. 351.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of
Grayson to borrow a sum of moncy, not in excess of $6,000.00, in behalf of
Wilson magisterial district, and to issue bonds of said county therefor, for
the purpose of constructing the road in Wilson magisterial district recently
surveyed from White Top to connect with route No. 12, at a point near
Grant, via Cabin Creek, Helton and Rugby, and to provide for the payment
of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the
principal thereof at maturity. [S B 381]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
hoard of supervisors of Grayson county be, and it is hereby, author-
ized and empowered to borrow a sum of money not exceeding six
thousand dollars, in behalf of Wilson magisterial district of said county,
and to issue bonds of the county therefor, the said bonds to be issued
in such denominations and to be payable at such time or times, not
exceeding thirty years from the date thereof, as the said board may
provide. Said bonds shall bear interest at not exceeding six per
centum per annum and shall not be sold for less than par.
2. The bonds issued by the board of supervisors in pursuance of
this act shall be signed by the chairman and countersigned by the clerk
thereof. The proceeds shall be used in Wilson magisterial district of
said county for the construction of the road in Wilson magisterial
district from White Top to connect with route number twelve of the
State highway system near Grant, via Cabin creek, Helton and Rugby,
under the supervision of the said board of supervisors, the county
engineer and the State highway department, preference being given
to the unfinished link or links of said road.
3. After the issuance of the bonds provided for in this act, the
board of supervisors of Grayson county are authorized to annual'y
levy a special tax on all property subject to local taxation tor road
purposes in Wilson magisterial district, including such property located
in any incorporated town wholly or partly in said district sufficient to
pay the interest on said bonds and to redeem the principal thereof at
maturity. The full faith and credit of the county of Grayson is
hereby pledged for the payment of the principal and interest of said
bonds. |
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
