Chap. 340.—An ACT to grant the James River Bridge Corporation the right to
open a temporary construction channel across the shoals on the north and
south sides of the main ship channel, of James river, near its mouth, to
facilitate the construction of its bridge, authority for which was granted by
the general assembly of Virginia by its act, approved April 8, 1927.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
James River Bridge Corporation be, and it is, hereby, granted the free
and unmolested right to dredge a temporary construction channel
across the shoals belonging to the Commonwealth of Virginia, on the
north and south sides of the main ship channel, wherever necessary,
to obtain a sufficient depth of water to move its floating equipment, in
the construction of its bridge now being built across James river near
its mouth, such temporary channel to be, approximately two hundred
feet in width, and of the depth of about seven feet, and which 1s to
follow the lines and location of the said bridge.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
