1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful to hunt, chase, molest, injure, kill, or capture, by any
means whatsoever, any fox in the county of Halifax, between the
fifteenth day of March and the fifteenth day of September, both in-
clusive, of each year.
2. Any person violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine
of not less than five dollars nor more than fifty dollars, or imprisoned
in jail for not more than thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the
justice or jury trying the case.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
