Chap. 295.—An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors of the counties of
Gloucester and Mathews to appropriate funds for the purpose of contribut-
ing toward placing markers upon the graves of Confederate soldiers buried
in such counties. [H B 307]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
boards of supervisors of the counties of Gloucester and Mathews be.
and they are hereby, authorized and empowered to appropriate out of
any monies in the county treasury not otherwise appropriated, such
sums as they may deem proper, for the purpose of contributing toward
placing suitable markers upon the graves of Confederate soldiers
buried in said counties; provided, however, that the board of super-
visors in each of these counties shall not contribute more than one
hundred dollars to this cause in any one year.
