Chap. 252.—An ACT for the relief of Hermitage Park Corporation. [H B 351]

_ Whereas State taxes for the year nineteen hundred and twenty-
tour were assessed against Hermitage Park Corporation on certain
intangible property in the sum of eighty-seven thousand, one hundred
and forty ($87,140.00) dollars: and
Whereas the said corporation was legally assessable with only
‘wenty-four thousand, four hundred and ninety-six dollars and twenty-
me cents ($24,496.21); and
Whereas Hermitage Park Corporation paid State taxes based upon
he first-named amount, including penalty, in the sum of seven hundred
ind seventy-seven dollars and seventy-two cents ($777.72), when it
hould have been chargeable with and paid the sum of two hundred and
ighteen dollars and sixty-three cents ($218.63) including penalty; and
Whereas the sum unlawfully collected by the State and paid by
lermitage Park Corporation amounted to five hundred and fifty-nine
ollars and nine cents ($559.09), and relief can only be obtained by
n act of the general assembly; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
»mptroller be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue his
arrant on the treasurer of Virginia in favor of Hermitage Park Cor-
rration for the sum of five hundred and fifty-nine dollars and nine
nts ($559.09), to reimburse the said corporation for such taxes
unlawfully collected and paid. The said sum is hereby appropriated
for the said purpose out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated.
